How to Switch from Splitwise to SuperDivide
Automatic import is still being built. Here’s the honest path today — start with one group, keep Splitwise for your history, and switch fully only if it earns it.
Settle up in Splitwise first
Clear or record any outstanding balances. Automatic import is still being built, so anything left open has to be re-entered by hand.
Export your Splitwise data for your own records
Settings → Account → Export Data in Splitwise gives you a CSV. Keep it as your archive — your history stays in Splitwise either way.
Create a SuperDivide account
Sign up. No card required - you get 7 days of Pro, then the free plan.
Start with one group
Pick a single upcoming trip, roommate group, or regular dinner group and invite those people. One group is a real test; moving everything at once is not.
Re-enter only what is still live
Recreate active balances manually, then run both apps side by side while you decide. Full Splitwise import and export are planned, not shipped.
Quick Migration Questions
Will my expense history transfer?
Not automatically yet. Splitwise import is still being built, so your history stays in Splitwise and you recreate only the balances that are still active.
Can I use both apps?
Yes, and for now that is the recommended path. Keep Splitwise for historical groups and use SuperDivide for new ones.
Do friends need to switch immediately?
They need an account to join a shared group, but only for the groups you actually move. Start with one group rather than all of them.
