Everything you need to know about using SuperDivide

Yes! Recurring expenses are perfect for rent, utilities, and subscriptions. Set up the expense once with the amount, split method, and frequency (monthly, weekly, etc.). SuperDivide will automatically create the expense on schedule and notify all roommates. You can edit or pause recurring expenses anytime.
No problem! You can add expenses even if a roommate doesn't have the app yet. They'll see their balance and expense history as soon as they join. You can also send them payment reminders via email or text. However, they'll need to download the app to mark expenses as paid or add their own expenses.
SuperDivide supports prorated expenses. When someone moves out mid-month, you can split rent and utilities proportionally based on the days they lived there. The app calculates the exact amount automatically. You can also generate a final settlement report showing all outstanding balances for easy move-out reconciliation.
Absolutely! SuperDivide offers custom split percentages. For example, if someone has the master bedroom, you can set rent to split 40%-30%-30% instead of equally. You can set different split methods for different expenses - equal split for groceries, custom percentages for rent, and specific amounts for parking spots.
Perfect use case for SuperDivide! Snap a photo of your grocery receipt and the app will scan it automatically. You can split the entire bill equally or select specific items to share. Track who's buying toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, and more. Over time you'll see if expenses are balanced or if one person is buying more than their share.
Yes! You can create multiple groups with different member combinations. For example: one group for all roommates (rent & utilities), another for just the people who share groceries, and a third for those who split streaming subscriptions. Each group maintains its own balance sheet.
You control when reminders go out. Set up automatic reminders for recurring expenses (rent due on the 1st), or send manual reminders for one-time expenses. Roommates receive notifications in the app, and optionally via email or text. Reminders show exactly what's owed, to whom, and include a direct link to mark the payment complete.
All traffic is encrypted in transit with HTTPS/TLS, and because SuperDivide does not process payments, there are no card or bank account numbers stored to begin with. You can delete your account and its data from settings. Being upfront about the gaps: two-factor authentication and formal certifications such as SOC 2 or PCI-DSS are not in place yet.
Your expense history stays in your account after the lease ends, so you can refer back to it for deposits or post-move-out disputes, and you can archive a group instead of deleting it. To be clear about a current limitation: CSV export is still marked "soon" in the app and PDF export is not built yet, so plan on the history living in SuperDivide rather than in a downloaded file for now.
Not for moving money yet. You can save payment profile details (Venmo, Cash App, Google Pay, UPI) so roommates know exactly where to send rent, but the payment itself happens in that app, not in SuperDivide. You then record the settlement with a method and reference number so balances stay accurate. Paying directly in-app is on the roadmap.
