Travel expenses made simple and stress-free

Not yet, and this is worth planning around for a trip. SuperDivide installs as a PWA with an offline shell, so the app itself will open without a connection, but creating expenses offline and syncing them later is not supported, and receipt scanning needs a connection because processing happens in the cloud. On flights or in remote areas, note the amount and add it when you are back online. Full offline entry is on the roadmap.

We use real-time exchange rates from major financial data providers, updated daily. The exchange rate is locked when you create the expense, so there's no confusion about conversions later. You can also manually enter a custom exchange rate if you used a specific rate (like from your credit card). All conversions are transparent - tap any amount to see the original currency and rate used.

Absolutely! Not everyone needs to split every expense. When adding an expense, select which travelers to split it with. For example, if 3 people went to dinner while 2 others stayed back, only split that dinner with the 3 who ate. The app keeps track of all partial splits and shows accurate balances for each person.

You can add expenses from any date, including pre-trip costs like flight bookings, hotel deposits, or travel insurance. Set the date to when the expense actually occurred. This ensures everyone who paid upfront gets properly reimbursed when you settle up. Great for trip planning where one person books everything early.

Receipt scanning is powered by a general-purpose AI vision model, so it handles receipts in many languages and scripts rather than a fixed list, and it picks up currency symbols and amount formats (€, £, ¥). Accuracy varies with the receipt, which is exactly why every scan lands in a review step before the expense is created - check the total and line items, edit anything wrong, then save.

Not yet. Your full trip history - receipts, dates, who paid, split details, and totals - stays viewable in the app for as long as you keep the group, but CSV export is still marked "soon" and PDF export is not built. If you need the data in a spreadsheet for an expense report, that is a real gap today rather than something we would rather gloss over.

You can create sub-groups or use categories to organize expenses. For example, create separate expense categories for 'Day 1 Paris', 'Day 2 Versailles', etc. Or use activity tags like 'Dining', 'Transportation', 'Accommodation', 'Entertainment'. Filter expenses by any category to see spending breakdowns. This helps with trip budgeting and post-trip analysis.

When someone joins late or leaves early, you can adjust expense splits accordingly. Either exclude them from expenses after they left, or split expenses proportionally based on days present. For example, if someone joined on day 3 of a 7-day trip, split their share as 4/7ths. The app supports custom split amounts and percentages for maximum flexibility.

Yes! When settling debts, each person can pay in their preferred currency. If Alice owes Bob €50, she can pay in USD and we show the equivalent amount. All payments are tracked regardless of currency used. The app shows "settled" once the payment is marked complete, regardless of which currency the actual transfer used.

None that move money yet. You can save payment profile details (Venmo, Cash App, Google Pay, UPI) so the person who owes you knows where to send it, but the transfer happens in that app. You then record the settlement with a method and reference number and the balance closes out. Paying directly inside SuperDivide is on the roadmap.
